I met this beautiful, recently-turned family of 4 for a quick mini session in Davie, at Bamford Sports Complex - right down the road from where I grew up. Now although the entire sports complex of endless baseball & soccer fields didn't exist when I was a kid, we found ourselves in a nice shady spot in front of the original (& unchanged) community center, where I remember taking dance classes & swimming lessons many moons ago. There is something refreshing about finding myself shooting photos for local families in the very area where I was raised. Pine Island Park was very welcoming & quiet - a nice change from the overcrowded parks I've been shooting at, where there is a photography session every 100ft. I don't know how I've gotten so lucky with so many adorable kids to photograph, but they sure make my job easy!

For being new to shooting photo sessions at Robbins Lodge Park in Davie, I sure have gotten comfortable there fast. For the 3rd blog post in a row, these family mini sessions also took place at Robbins, which continues to provide a beautiful setting & gorgeous light for family photos. This past Sunday were families of boys of all ages & a mix of first-timers & old friends... I had a great time laughing with & getting to know these families (including family pup, Marley!). Thanks to everyone who has participated in this year's park mini sessions. I've known this beautiful mother of 2 my entire life... & that isn't any bit an exaggeration since our own mothers were friends long before the 2 of us were born. This is the third time I've had the pleasure of shooting holiday photos for her & her family, but the first time their dog, Biggie, joined in on the fun (who seemed to be a pro on posing for the camera). Although I've gotten used to 5-year-old Ryan always keeping me on my toes for these sessions with his huge personality - I couldn't help but laugh at all his different facial expressions while sorting through the photos. Ava, who is now 7, is a bit of the opposite with a very calm, quiet demeanor - but also super affectionate & loving. I had so much fun with both of them this past weekend at Robbins Lodge Park, it was great to catch up & see how much they've changed![tg_grid_gallery gallery_id="8773" layout="wide" columns="4"]

Another year has flown by, which means it was time for my annual catch up with this great family of 4. Always trying to change things up a bit, this year we held our photo session at Robbins Park in Davie & avoided any fully-clothed ocean swims like last year. Jordan, who is now 6 & a pro at these yearly sessions, continues to provide his own creative direction, suggesting poses & locations to go to next. 3.5 Year Old, Family Photo Session | Wynwood Walls
I usually shoot early mornings in Wynwood, Miami, as its quiet & we have all the walls to ourselves... However, this photo shoot was done late afternoon, when most of the areas of the neighborhood were filled with people. Because my favorite settings are those off the beaten path, within blocks of 2nd Ave, the crowds did not really affect us shooting at all. But can we talk about these fun colors?! You can't beat them - it always makes such a fun gallery. 3.5 year old Elena was loving all the art & choosing which were her favorites. If you're familiar with the area, you know that some of the art is very... adult - political, graphic or otherwise. So at times we had to find alternatives to some of the ones she wanted to take photos with, but we all had a great time.

Another sweet baby boy on the blog... this time, just 12 days new! I'll be honest, when mom, Valerie, contacted me to tell me baby #3 was on his way, it had felt like no time had passed at all since I photographed her second baby at their home in Jupiter. But 12 days after sweet baby Parker arrived, I met the family in Jupiter for another session & out ran an adorable 2.5 year old to remind me that it *had* been a while since we last saw each other. The love both Tyler & 6-year old Gavin had for their new little brother was almost too much to handle. Faster than I could even get my camera out of my bag, the 2 big brothers swarmed to their brother, gently petting him, kissing him & looking at him like he was the best thing in the world. Congratulations to the entire proud family!!

And just like that, my baby fever has returned. Meet Jack. At the time of our session, he was just 18 days new. His parents graciously allowed me into their home to capture some of that brand-new-baby-goodness & I could not stop swooning at his cuteness. I mean, just look at those lips! And toes! And fingernails! (Okay, okay, I'll stop). One of my favorite parts of the morning was the way the brand new Mom & Dad looked at their son... and how he looked at them in return. Congratulations again - enjoy your beautiful bundle of joy!

1 Year Old, Family Photo Session | Wynwood Walls Photographer
I've said it probably dozens of times already on this blog, but one of my favorite things about being back in South Florida as a photographer, is that it allows me to reconnect with a ton of old friends. Shanon & I were great friends through Middle School so to get to see her now as a beautiful mother (and wife) was so much fun. The only real request for this session was lots of color... and judging by these photos, I'd definitely say we accomplished that. We spent the morning in the unusually-quiet Wynwood, Miami & took advantage of all the amazing murals around 2nd street. Its was so hard to pick our favorite walls to make stops at, but even harder to choose favorites from the photos to share. Happy first birthday, Finley! It was so great reconnecting with your mom (& meeting your dad)!
Family of 4 Holiday Photos | North Beach Park Hollywood
I love my annual check in with this family... And considering Jordan (who is now 5) has been taking part in these photo sessions since he was just 13 months old, he definitely knows the drill (he even directed the 2nd photo in this gallery - wanting to pose in the background of his sister). We met at North Beach Park in Hollywood this year, which gave us great places to "explore" (& play find-the-grills) before ending up on the beach. There was no doubt Jordan was going to be first in the water - It gave our family photo session a trash-the-dress-esque edge. Ha. Had a great time as always - love watching these two grow up!
